The University of Arizona Microcampus Conference 2023, held in Jakarta, and co-hosted by our Indonesian partner Sampoerna University, will bring leaders from our partner universities around the world together to help advance our unique microcampus educational model. The meeting will provide a platform to exchange information on best teaching practices, student recruitment and success, and overcoming cultural barriers to international education. We will also explore multidirectional student mobility and hear from delegates on academic programs they would like to add to their portfolios. We look forward to welcoming all our partners for what promises to be a fruitful and enjoyable conference.

As “the American University in Indonesia,” SU is pleased to welcome our colleagues, friends and guests who share our commitment to provide affordable access to higher education for students from around the world. The conference group rate includes a standard guest room (42sqm) at IDR 1,700,000/night net (including taxes and fees), and is inclusive of breakfast for 2 persons, high speed internet access and complimentary use of the Health Club.

Preparing for Your Visit: Weather and Attire

The climate of Indonesia is predominantly tropical, with average temperatures in June of 90°F / 32°C to 77°F / 25°C, and relative humidity levels ranging between 70% and 90%.

We recommend you pack clothing accordingly. Include business casual (jackets optional) for conference activities and sessions, and comfortable, cool clothes for free time.

For international attendees, it is important to note that visa requirements may vary depending on your country of origin. We recommend that you check with your local embassy or consulate to determine the visa requirements for traveling to Jakarta, Indonesia. If your visa application requires an invitation letter please email our conference organizers at intl-events@arizona.edu.

Customs Clearance

In addition to obtaining a valid visa, all passengers traveling to Indonesia must complete an Indonesia Electronic Customs Declaration online prior to departure. This is a mandatory requirement to clear customs. There are two options:

Flights, Airports and Transfers

Please plan your flights to arrive at the latest by end of day June 28th. The primary international airport is Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport. For information on transport to and from the airport click here.
